After his previous term as freshman class president, Aiden Smith’s passion for government set ablaze a plan in his heart.
Vision glazed, he began to see red—red, white, and blue. He knew he was made for so much more than just class president; Smith was plotting to be president of the whole high school.
Andrew Cross got wind of this information and felt simmering rage. He was known to be the government man; that was who he was! Cross knew he had to run against Smith in order to protect his honor as a teacher, if there was any.
“Cross; his name should be criss-cross; he’s criss-crossing on every issue. Just last week he said he loves homeroom; now he wants to abolish it!” said Smith. “My agenda is clear: THS first!”
Smith’s policies were on full display for the high school with both students and teachers alike rallying for him. Even Bradley Morelock, someone Cross considers his best friend, supported Smith.
“Cross has a reputation only seeking out benefits for himself,” said Brad Morelock. “While Aiden [on the other hand] seems like a man of the people.”

Upon hearing this, Cross immediately swung on Morelock, resulting in a gruesome fight. Arriving on the scene, Aiden wasn’t fazed; he wanted the battle to go on.
“Stand back and stand by. I’m not gonna condemn this; when we fight, we win,” said Smith. This mentality allowed Aiden Smith to eventually win the very first (and very last) Tennessee High election.
