With the roar of football season on the horizon, student council is busy at work reaching out to the community, brainstorming, and planning, all in preparation for their upcoming homecoming festivities.
“We’re looking forward to the bonfire bash and organizing our homecoming fall festival, which will look a little different than previous years,” said co-advisor Hope Penley.
This year, the annual bonfire will coincide with a fall festival. Both taking place at the THS track, they will feature vendors, food trucks, games, and the Southside parade.
But these aren’t the only things student council is focused on. With a variety of new members, they’re dedicated to fostering relationships and promoting student engagement with their communities.
“We’re really excited about our upcoming events as a way to support our school and local community,” said co-advisor Lucas Gentry. “I want [student council] to be an opportunity for everyone to participate and feel included.”
