Every Tuesday at the early hour of 7 a.m., students in First Priority come together in room 2445 to discuss how they can positively impact students. Offering leadership and evangelistic opportunities, club members have the opportunity to grow in their faith and inspire other people’s faith as well.
“We try to teach students to teach kids how to have the courage to share their testimony,” said Candance Sutherland, sponsor.
Even though they only have the opportunity to meet once a week for 20 minutes, the club “trains [students] to be the leader instead of the follower,” said junior Lucy Millwood.
Besides teaching students how to share their beliefs and lead club meetings, members build relationships with peers whose struggles may be similar but backgrounds may be different.
“Kids can go in feeling comfortable, [because] they feel the same connections from different people struggling in the same things,” said senior Abigail Waldorf.
