The motto of the Maroon & White newspaper is “for a better Tennessee High.”  Our goal is to create a strong, relevant, accurate, engaging newspaper that represents the broad interests and needs of our community.  Being a member of the Maroon & White newspaper is an honor.  You must be willing to go the “extra mile” to make this newspaper a success.  

To ensure that we are selecting goal-driven candidates who believe in quality journalism, we ask that you complete the prerequisites and submit a completed application. We will notify you of your acceptance via email before class registration.

Prerequisites:

You must be able to:

• Maintain an A in your English classes.
• Be able to meet deadlines.
• Work well with a team.
• Spend time outside of school to work on the newspaper.
• Take the responsibility seriously.
• Obtain a recommendation from your most recent English teacher.

The deadline for student applications and teacher recommendations for the 2025-2026 school year is Friday, February 21st.
